This machine was originally designed for cobblers to use for shoe/boot repair. It's similar to the Singer 29-4 patcher machine: it has a presser foot that rotates in a complete 360 degree circle, which is one of the reasons it's also highly sought after for sewing leather patches on motorcycle jackets, vests, etc. It's also a great machine for harness work and leather craft wallets, belts, etc. But this Adler has a longer 18 arm for reaching tighter places and was made with superior German engineering -- it is built like a tank. This machine is in very good condition for it's age (made in the'30s by my best guess) and still sews beautifully (see photos for sewing samples).
It is on the original treadle base and also has hand crank for more precise sewing. Machine includes original manual, threader and misc items in the original drawer pre-wound bobbins, needles, etc. Please look at all photos closely as they are an important part of the item description. The item "ADLER 30-1 LONG ARM LEATHER PATCHER INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE.
