Singer 401A Sewing Machine Made in USA

One of the most reliable sewing machines ever built and way ahead of the competition when it was built in the 1950's. In fact, when my mom's newer sewing machine died on her I told her I would loan her one of my 401's until I sell it. This all-metal machine has a metal gear drive for no stalling or slippage so with proper care you may just pass it down to your grandkids. And even though it is not an industrial sewing machine, it can actually sew leather like an industrial machine... Just not recommended to sew it all day.

World's first zig-zag machine for home use made entirely in the USA. First automatic with a slant needle and gear drive for easier seeing and for smooth sewing. First with double easy threading.

Built-in threading chart, handy "drop-in" bobbin in front of needle. Built-in, eye-level stitch chart with user controlled knob for changing to a fancier stitch.
